Taiyo Okamoto
Artist Taiyo Okamoto grew up near the ocean in Karatsu, Japan. He has lived in New York City since 2002. Painting, tearing, carving, and gluing various paper textures, particularly Japanese Inshu mulberry paper, Taiyo creates art inspired by chigiri- and from small works to large installations.
